System
The Source system
consists of the B-98 for the low-end response and the T-98
for the mid and high frequencies. Each unit is equipped with
dedicated amplifiers and control electronics. Installation
and connection is very fast and easily because of the light
weighted, compact enclosures and daisy-chain audio cabling.
To increase the reliability, the electronics contain the Dynamic
Level Control (DLC), a circuitry which monitors and controls
the average power applied to the speakers, according to the
power handling capacity without affecting the dynamic response.
This method guarantees highly dependable operation under all
circumstances. The use of first class components, test procedures
at all levels of the manufacturing process and extensive burn-in
tests prolong the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) to the
limit. The 18mm Scandinavian birch plywood sturdy enclosures,
coated with a durable finish and reinforced with ABS interlocking
corners, makes the system suitable for rugged 'on the road'
handling.
Extreme Low Distortion
The Voltage Controlled Current Source (VCCS), an advanced
technique to interface the transducers and control stages,
reduces the acoustical distortion to an absolute minimum.
80° Coverage Angle
The T-98 incorporates two 10 inch
midrange transducers, driving a diffraction unit of proprietary
design, in conjunction with a superb 2 inch compression driver
coupled to a true exponetial horn. This combination provides
a wide and even dispersion pattern of 80° x 60° for
the whole audio spectrum.
Excellent Subsonic Response
The B-98 is a port loaded cabinet with a custom manufactured
18 inch low frequency cone driver. The power response extends
down to 32Hz, thus eliminating the need for subwoofers.
Compact Dimensions
By making use of advanced technologies,
the AXYS® design team succeeded in reaching a high ratio
of cubic volume versus SPL (Sound Pressure Level). The modular
concept and compact dimensions make transport very economical
and easy. Even one person set-up and operation is possible.
The AXYS® Source '98 System is the ideal choice to cover
a wide range of applications from small venues to large-scale
outdoor concerts. The slim-line design will perfectly fit the
limited spatial conditions in theatres and cinemas.
